Studio Ghibli was a given and one of the best places to start regarding a top 5 animation studio.. Founded by the legendary Hayao Miyazaki, this studio has created timeless classics such as "Spirited Away," "My Neighbor Totoro," and "Princess Mononoke." MAPPA is most famous and revered studios in Japan and this was a studio which has to be on Ed and Solo’s list of top 5 anime stuidos.  In recent years, MAPPA has risen to prominence with its bold and innovative approach to storytelling. With works such as "Yuri on Ice," "Dorohedoro," and "Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack On Titan" MAPPA has established a reputation for pushing boundaries, delivering visually distinct art styles, and tackling unique narratives across a wide range of genres. Production I.G

If you are a fan of the podcast, then no surprise here that this is Ed’s favourite Studio. Production I.G has a rich history of producing anime that seamlessly blends traditional and digital animation techniques. Their portfolio includes the cyberpunk masterpiece "Ghost in the Shell," the thought-provoking "Psycho-Pass," and also did the visually captivating "Attack on Titan which has now moved over to MAPPA."
